North Hollywood is a district in the San Fernando Valley region of the City of Los Angeles, California.
Hollywood Records is a record label owned by Disney Music Group. It mainly focuses on pop music, although they do include some metalcore and alternative metal bands. The label was started in 1989 and initially distributed by Elektra Records in the US and Canada until 1995 when distribution switched to PolyGram (which became Universal Music Group in 1998.)
Hollywood Records also releases many film soundtracks from films made by Disney or Disney-owned film studios.
Together with Lyric Street Records, Mammoth Records and Walt Disney Records, it is as of 2008 part of the Disney Music Group.
"Hollywood" is the third single from Madonna's ninth album American Life, released in 2003. The single failed to chart in the U.S., becoming the first Madonna single in twenty years not to do so.
"Hollywood (Africa)" is a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers from their 1985 album, Freaky Styley. It is the second track on the album, and it was released as a single in the same year.
To the producer of Freaky Styley, George Clinton, the song was one of his favorites on the album. He used to visit the gigs of the Red Hot Chili Peppers every now and then, and when they performed "Hollywood (Africa)", he went on stage to join Anthony singing and to incite the crowd.
It is a cover of the song "Africa" by The Meters, from their album Rejuvenation.
"Hollywood" is the fourth single from one of Jay-Z's solo albums, Kingdom Come. The song features Jay-Z's longtime girlfriend, R&B singer Beyoncé. The song was set for release in March 2007. The song is also featured on the deluxe edition of Beyoncé's B'Day with more of Beyoncé's vocals and less of Jay-Z's under the title "Welcome to Hollywood". With an original release date of February 2007, the release date of this has been repeatedly pushed back probably due to Beyonce's duet with Shakira "Beautiful Liar" being released at the same time as "Hollywood". The single was supposed to be released in the United Kingdom in the summer of 2007, but plans were later scrapped.
