Michael F. Newlin (born January 2, 1949 in Portland, Oregon) is a former NBA basketball player. A feisty 6'4" guard from the University of Utah, he played 11 professional seasons (1971-1982), spending time with the Houston Rockets, New Jersey Nets, and New York Knicks. He had his finest season in 1980-1981, when he averaged 21.4 points per game for the Nets, and he retired in 1982 with 12,507 career points.

Newlin currently lives in Sugar Land, Texas. Mike Newlin's older brother is Tom Newlin who currently lives in Colorado. Tom Newlin has 2 children (Shannon Piazza- 44 years old, Pete Newlin-42 years old)with his first wife(Margaret Newlin Zimel) and 1 child(Pierce, 8 years old) with his current wife Melissa. Shannon Piazza lives in California with husband Bill Piazza. Pete Newlin lives in Portland, Oregon with family. Pete has 3 kids with his wife Bev. There first child is Josh-16 he attends Lake Oswego High School as a sophomore. His second child Jasmine (Jazzy) is 12 years old and attends Lake Oswego Junior High School as a 7th grader. There youngest child is Jordan is 8 years old who attends Oak Creek Elementary School as a 2nd grader. Margaret (64 years old)lives in Sherwood Oregon with millionaire husband Lou Zimel(87 years old). Margarets other 2 children with 2nd husband are Shane Peterson and Tamara Hauge. Shane lives in Sherwood and has 2 children living with their mom in West Linn. Cydney is their first child, he is 11 years old and he attends Rosemont Middle School and their youngest child is Chandler who is 10 years old. Although These families are not close with Mike there are close with each other.
