Joseph "McG" McGinty Nichol (born August 9, 1968) is an American film and television producer and director. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
With a psychology degree from UC Irvine, McG started as a still photographer in the music business, shooting local bands and musicians with whom he was friendly. He produced the debut album by Sugar Ray, Lemonade and Brownies. Eventually, this led him to direct music videos, namely many for Korn.
His films (as director) include Charlie's Angels, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, We Are Marshall. His television series include Fastlane, The O.C., Supernatural, Chuck and Pussycat Dolls Present: Search for the Next Doll.
He has, according to the producers, signed on to direct the next installment of the Terminator franchise: Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.
