Julie Deborah Kavner (born September 7, 1951) is an Emmy Award-winning American actress, perhaps best known for providing the voice of Marge Simpson on the animated television show The Simpsons, acting in several Woody Allen-directed films, Stated in interview on Inside the Actors Studio and playing Brenda Morgenstern on Rhoda in the 1970s.
Onstage, she has played under Burt Reynolds’s direction in Two for the Seesaw with Martin Sheen at Reynolds’s Dinner Theatre in Jupiter, Florida. In Canada, she starred in It Had To Be You, written by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna.
In Disney's The Lion King 1½ (a.k.a. The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata), Kavner played Timon's mother.

Julie went in to audition for a guest spot on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. They loved her, but felt she wasn't right for the part. When 'Rhoda' was created, they knew they wanted her for the part of Brenda. The role was written with her in mind.
Graduated from San Diego State University along with actor Carl Weathers in 1971.
Made her first great personal hit in Los Angeles "Little Theatre" in Robert Patrick (III)'s "Cheep Theatricks" singing a mock-ecological song called "Don't Poison the Piranhas".
Attended Beverly Hills High School.
Went to the same High School as Angelina Jolie, Michael Klesic, Nicolas Cage, Corben Bernsen, Lenny Kravitz, David Schwimmer, Jonathan Silverman, and Richard Dreyfuss.
Will not allow cameras to film her doing the voices of the Simpsons characters.
