Inferno (2001 film) (Wikipedia.org)

Inferno is a 2001 28 minute long sci-fi film directed by Paul Kousoulides, featuring UK cult actress/presenter Emily Booth. Set inside a "Quake" like video game , one of the game's cannon-fodder grunts falls for the Lara Croft inspired heroine, and in a constantly looping game level, tries time and again to catch her attention before she can "chain gun" him.

Commissioned by the UK's Channel 4, Inferno won the Silver Hugo Award at the 2002 Chicago International Film Festival, Best Short Film at the 2002 London Sci-Fi Film Festival. It was also nominated for a BAFTA for Best Short Film in 2002

Inferno (1980 film) (Wikipedia.org)

Inferno is a 1980 Italian supernatural horror film written and directed by Dario Argento. The film stars Irene Miracle, Leigh McCloskey, Eleonora Giorgi, Daria Nicolodi, and Alida Valli. The cinematography was by Romano Albani, and Keith Emerson composed the film's thunderous musical score. The convoluted story concerns a young man's investigation into the disappearance of his sister, who had been living in a New York City apartment building that also served as a home for a powerful, centuries-old witch.

A thematic sequel to Suspiria (1977), the film is the second part of Argento's "The Three Mothers Trilogy". The long-delayed concluding entry, The Mother of Tears, was released in 2007. All three films are partially derived from the concept of "Our Ladies of Sorrow" (Mater Lachrymarum, Mater Suspiriorum, and Mater Tenebrarum) originally devised by Thomas de Quincey in his book Suspiria de Profundis (1845).

Unlike Suspiria, Inferno received a very limited theatrical release and the film was unable to match the box-office success of its predecessor. While the initial critical response to the film was mostly negative, its reputation has improved considerably over the years. Kim Newman has called it "...perhaps the most underrated horror movie of the 1980’s.” Newman, Kim. The Penguin Encyclopedia of Horror and the Supernatural, edited by Jack Sullivan, Viking Penguin Inc., 1986. ISBN 0-670-80902-0 (Reprinted by Random House Value Publishing, 1989, ISBN 0-517-61852-4) In 2005, the magazine Total Film named Inferno one of the 50 greatest horror films of all time.

Inferno (1997 film) (Wikipedia.org)

Inferno aka Operation Cobra is a 1997 feature film starring Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Rick Hill and Gary Graver. Indian actors R. Madhavan and Deepti Bhatnagar have minor roles. Wilson plays the role of Interpol agent Kyle Connors on a mission set in India. The film was mostly shot at Film City in Chennai, India.

The film was a critical failure and is reported to have done average business thanks to Video releases. A scene from the film created a minor stir due to the sensuality of one of its scenes. While it was common for US movie-goers, Indian movie-goers were surprised by the fact that the female lead actor exposed her breasts in a white dress, during a romantic scene with Don Wilson. The scene is now legendary thanks to the number of computers and rise in the number of Internet users in India.

Eddie Lomax (Van Damme) is a vetern soldier sick of life, wandering the desert looking for a reason to die. An incident with a few thugs from the nearby town who steal Eddies motorbike and beat him almost to death, starts in Eddie a flame for revenge. Helped by Mr. Early, and some other good fellows, Eddie is out for vengeance. Written by Anonymous

A truck roars down a dirt road in the middle of the Nevada desert. Leaving a plume of dust behind. Aboard are Matt, Jesse, and Petey Ryker, the sons of Ramsey Ryker, who is the patriarch of the violent Ryker family. Ramsey runs a counterfeit ring out of his high security compound in the desert town of Inferno, Nevada -- a town terrorized by not only the Ryker family, but also by the Ravers, a group of drug runners led by a drug kingpin named Beserko. Something catches Petey's eye from a distance, and then two gunshots ring out. They approach a man named Eddie Lomax, by his broken-down truck, under the scorching heat of the desert's sun. Eddie has been drinking heavily and is trying to commit suicide with his .45 Automatic. The Ryker brothers insult, shoot, and brutally beat up Eddie. After robbing Eddie of his pearl-handled 45 automatic and his sleek Moto Guzzi VII Sport motorcycle that they find under a tarp on the back of the truck, they leave him to die. Eddie is found by an eccentric old timer named Jubal Early, who takes him to the abandoned mine shaft that he calls home, and nurses him back to health. Eddie, upon Jubal's suggestions, decides to get out of town and not seek revenge. But on the day he walks into the Road Runner Diner to buy a bus ticket, Eddie changes his mind. When Eddie meets Rhonda Reynolds, the daughter of the diner's owner Pop Reynolds, she realizes that Eddie has always blamed himself for things. Eddie's reason for coming to Inferno is to deliver a letter to Rhonda -- the letter that he promised her dead husband Josh he would bring to her. Helping Rhonda is, in Eddie's mind, a way for him to make up for the loss that she has suffered on his account, and it represents one more cause in Eddie's quest for justice in Inferno. 20th Century-Fox put a lot of eggs in this 1953 film---3-D and stereophonic sound on prints for the few theatres equipped for that sound system in 1953, and the result was possibly the best 3-D film made during the craze. The basically-simple plot, in theory but more than that in execution, concerns a spoiled and alcoholic millionaire, Robert Ryan, who breaks his leg falling off of a horse, and is left to die in the desert by his cheating wife, Rhonda Fleming (born for Technicolor and 3-D), and her lover, William Lundigan.
