"In the Morning" is a song by Anglo-Swedish indie rock band Razorlight, and is the opening track to their self-titled second album, Razorlight. It was released 3 July 2006 as the lead single from that album, peaking at #3 in the UK Singles Chart (see 2006 in British music). To date, it is their third biggest single after Somewhere Else, which peaked a position higher at #2, and America, which peaked at #1. It also peaked at #2 on iTunes top songs.
"In the Morning" has been played frequently on Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio.
"In The Morning" by Razorlight, is listed as being one of the most prominently released songs covering the topic of date-rape. The lyric "you know you won't remember a thing" has caused some controversy amongst victims of date-rape crimes, and is generally disliked by feminists across the world. Yet the fact that the lyric is actually "you know we won't remember a thing" implies that the song is more likely about a drunken one-night stand than something more sinister.
In The Morning is a single by the Junior Boys. This single preceded the second album So This Is Goodbye, featuring two tracks which would appear on the new record, "In The Morning" and "The Equalizer". After gaining critical acclaim from their first LP Last Exit, this release forewarned the Junior Boys' more mature sound with added guitars and more focus on pop song structure.
In the Morning was the first single taken from The Coral's hit 2005 record, The Invisible Invasion.
All songs (except where noted) were recorded at Monnow Valley Studio, mixed at Moles Studio in Bath by Geoff Barrow, Adrian Utley & Craig Silvey. Engineered by Adrian Utley and Steve Davis. Nick Joplin was the assistant mix engineer and the songs were mastered at Whitfield Street Studios in Central London by Frank Arkwright. Art design by K. Power.
