Help is a BBC television comedy series first screened on BBC Two in 2005. Written by and starring Paul Whitehouse and Chris Langham, it concerns a psychotherapist (Langham) and his therapy sessions with a variety of patients almost all played by Whitehouse.
Peter, the diffident psychologist, has an obsession with his receptionist (played by Alison King) and has regular appointments with his own therapist, played by Whitehouse. The other performers in the series were Mark Williams and Olivia Colman in cameos as patients, Alison Senior as a patient's wife, and Langham's real-life daughter Emily as a patient's prodigious daughter.
In 2007 the development of Pedro, a character in the proposed second series - which was never made - became a focal point of Langham's trial.
Help! is a 1965 film starring The Beatles and featuring Leo McKern, Eleanor Bron, Victor Spinetti, John Bluthal, Roy Kinnear and Patrick Cargill. The soundtrack was released as an album, also called Help!.
The Help is a short-lived series which aired on The WB in March and April of 2004. The show was a raunchy comedy that focused on the hard-lucked life of a beauty school dropout, who now must work for the wealthy and spoiled Ridgeway family. The rest of the hired help are also very unusual in their own ways. The show only aired five episodes and was cancelled shortly after in May 2004 after disappointing ratings.
The show's working title was "Crazy", and the original concept was to have Chris Langham's therapist talking to various celebrity clients. Langham disliked the idea, and suggested that Paul Whitehouse (I) play all the client roles - even though the two had never worked together, or even met.
Maria was on her way to becoming a beautician when her mother's illness forced the 22 year-old to come home to care for her. Maria's mom has since moved on to a better place. Maria has moved on as well - to be the maid for the insanely wealthy Ridgeway dynasty. As one of many servants who dote on the demented and dysfunctional family, Maria juggles extremely important tasks like dusting their many unread books, vacuuming their priceless rugs and picking up after their prized poodle Pookie. But the biggest surprise comes when Maria discovers there's not only a class struggle between the upstairs and the downstairs, but there's an all out war among The Help! Written by Anonymous
