Harold V. Goldstein (best known stage name Harold Gould) (born December 10, 1923) is a five-time Emmy Award-nominated American actor best known for playing Martin Morgenstern in the 1970s sitcom Rhoda, a role he reprised from his earlier recurring role in The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Gould has acted in film and television for nearly 50 years, appearing in more than 300 television shows, 20 major motion pictures, and over 100 stage plays. harold.html" target="_blank">Harold Gould, New York State Writers Institute. Harold Gould earned a Ph.D. in theatre and taught speech and drama at Cornell University. Pursuing some off-Broadway work in the 1950s, he decided to practice what he preached, and became a full-time professional actor in the 1960s. He has appeared in hundreds of TV shows since, usually playing a father, grandfather or other authority figure.
