Efram Potelle is a filmmaker from Portland, Maine, USA. He is now based in Los Angeles working with Newborn Pictures with his longtime collaborator, Kyle Rankin.
He co-directed The Battle of Shaker Heights through the second season of HBO's Project Greenlight.
Attended Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine. After college, he moved to Portland, Maine and co-founded an independent film company, Newborn Pictures with friend Kyle Rankin. They dedicated themselves to writing and producing original and entertaining films. In 1996, they co-wrote and co-produced Reindeer Games (1996), a feature-length psychological thriller. This indie film was the first of its kind to ever be produced in Maine. In 1999 Newborn Pictures released Pennyweight (1999), a 30-minute comedic short starring veteran Hollywood actor Ray Wise (Twin Peaks) who donated his time to the film. The film has screened at over 20 festivals, won 5 awards for Best Short Film, and recently aired on the Sci-Fi Channel nationwide. Kyle & Efram released 'They Came to Attack Us' earlier this year during a fundraising event. Right now the two are writing feature-length screenplays and developing new ideas.
