Dragons' Den is a television programme that originated in Japan where the format is owned by Sony. The format, which now airs internationally, consists of entrepreneurs pitching their ideas to secure investment finance from business experts — the "Dragons".
The British version of the Japanese television series Dragons' Den is hosted by Evan Davis, and first aired on BBC Two on January 4, 2005.
Budding entrepreneurs, inventors and small businessmen (and women) pitch their ideas to the five "dragons" - real-life business leaders and millionaires, with real cash to invest in the companies they feel will make it.
