David Jacob Wain (born August 1, 1969 in Shaker Heights, Ohio) is an American comedian, writer, actor and director. He is best known for the feature film Wet Hot American Summer, the 90s sketch comedy series The State, and the Comedy Central show Stella. Wain was a founding member of Stella, along with Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black.
He and Michael Patrick Jann directed almost everything on "The State."
Was in an alternate scene of Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgendy with his long time friend/collaborator Paul Rudd during the Pand Watch: Day 5 report. The scene can be seen on the Unrated version of Anchorman in the Blooper section.
He is originally from the same neighborhood in Ohio as Paul Newman (I), Fred Willard and Molly Shannon.
