Chris Lewis (cricketer) (Wikipedia.org)

Christopher Clairmonte Lewis (born February 14, 1968 in Georgetown, Guyana) is an English cricket player who played for Nottinghamshire, Surrey and Leicestershire in the 1990s. He played in 32 Tests and 53 ODIs from 1990 to 1998.

Lewis was regarded as an aggressive lower-order batsman, fine fast-medium bowler and an able all-round fielder. He was regarded as a colourful player of the game, who never quite lived up to his early potential.

Lewis always felt he was driven out of county cricket, after alleging that three England team-mates had taken bribes to throw matches (a charge that was never substantiated). He was subsequently jeered by crowds and cold-shouldered by players, including his county teammates. It coincided with a decline in his form, and he left professional cricket, aged just 32.

At present, he captains Clifton Cricket Club, in the Central Lancashire Cricket League, where he opens the batting and the bowling and has an average of 98 and 20 in each discipline this season. In his spare time, he also coaches children in Berkshire.

Chris Lewis (tennis) (Wikipedia.org)

Chris Lewis (born March 9, 1957 in Auckland), is a former professional tennis player who was 1983 Wimbledon finalist as an unseeded player.

A world no. 1 junior player in 1975, the 5'11, 155lbs. Lewis won 3 career singles titles with a career high ranking of World No. 19. His career singles tour record was 242 wins against 204 losses. He also won 8 doubles titles during his 12 years on the tour.

In reaching the '83 Wimbledon finals, with a five-set win over Kevin Curren in the semi-finals, Lewis became only the seventh unseeded man to accomplish the feat and only the second New Zealander after Tony Wilding to reach a Wimbledon singles final. He lost the final to John McEnroe, 6-2 6-2 6-2.

He reached the finals at the Cincinnati Masters in 1981, falling 6-3, 6-4 to John McEnroe.

Now resident in Irvine, California, in addition to owning and operating Tennis-Experts.com, an online tennis equipment retailer, he coaches promising young players at the Woodbridge Tennis Club.

Chris Lewis (Usenet) (Wikipedia.org)

Chris Lewis is a Canadian expert on Usenet and spam. He is perhaps best known for his work in writing and running auto-cancelers for newsgroup spam, and his help in implementing (and avoiding the need for) UDPs. He is employed by Nortel/BNR and helps maintain the Ottawa-Carleton Unix Users Group (Ocunix http://www.ocuug.on.ca/).

He is generally considered to be a leading member of the so-called cabal that allegedly runs Usenet.

Chris Lewis (Australian rules footballer) (Wikipedia.org)

Chris Lewis (born 17 March 1968) is an Australian rules footballer who played over 200 AFL senior games for the West Coast Eagles. Chris is an Indigenous Australian.

Lewis attended Christ Church Grammar for his secondary education, one of the elite indepependent schools in Western Australia. At the time, Christ Church apprently did not allow Year 10 students to play in the First XVIII football team (which was reserved for Year 11 and 12 boys, for safety reasons). However, Lewis' ability meant that an exception was made in his case. He was also a very good cricketer whilst at Christ Church.

In 1990, he won the West Coast Eagles Club Champion Award. He was a member of the 1992 and 1994 WCE premiership teams, as well as the 1996 Claremont premiership team in the WAFL.

In 2006 Lewis was named as half forward flanker in the Eagles' 20th anniversary team.

As a player, Lewis was considered a highly skilled player - his passing skills were amongst the best in the AFL. The main criticism of Lewis was his frequent suspensions. However, fans felt that he was given particuarly unfair treatment from both umpires and the tribunal. Lewis played much of his early football career prior to the AFL taking action against racial abuse, and thus racial taunts from opposition players were a frequent source of provocation.

Lewis was 184cm tall. At the start of his AFL career (1987) he weighed about 74kg, but weighed about 84kg further into his career. He wore the #28 jumper, now worn by Ashley Sampi.
