Borivoje "Bora" Todorović (Serbian Cyrillic: Боривоје "Бора" Тодоровић) (born November 5, 1930 in Belgrade, Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes) is a Serbian actor. His sister is the famous actress, Mira Stupica, and father of Srđan Todorović.
Bora Todorović has an extensive acting career, and has had roles in critically acclaimed Yugoslavian films such as Who's That Singing Over There (1980), The Marathon Family (1982), Balkan Express (1983), Balkanski Špijun (Balkan Spy, 1984), Time of the Gypsies (1988), and Underground (1995).
Bora's father died during his childhood. Following secondary school, Bora completed army service, at which point he had no plans to pursue an acting career. However, his older sister Mira's passion for acting exposed him to the business and soon he became passionate about it as well. He enrolled in the Belgrade Drama Arts Academy, and eventually acted on stage at the Belgrade Drama Theatre. In 1957, Bora lived and acted in Zagreb, eventually returning to Belgrade in 1961. Between 1961 and 1983, Bora was a member of the "Atelje 212" theater in Belgrade, where he performed various roles. In October 2002, he appeared on the Zvezdara Theatre stage in Belgrade, in the play Larry Thompson.
Bora Todorović now alternates residence between Prague and Belgrade. He is currently married to Carolyn Kilkka, with whom he has two children. Bora also has a child from his previous marriage to Snežana Matić.
Bora Todorovic was born in Belgrade, in the teacher's family which was first led by service to Milanovac. He had lost his father there during his childhood and then the family moved to Arandjelovac. Then followed going to Belgrade, secondary school and army service. He had not dreamt about acting but he was imperceptible bitten by this profession fever, since his elder sister Mira Stupica, had already been considerably infected with this fever. On Belgrade Drama Arts Academy he was taught secrets of craft in class of Jozo Laurencic, together with Ljuba Tadic (I) and Slobodan Perovic (I). His first theatre engagement was in Belgrade Drama Theatre. When Mira and her husband Bojan Stupica had got engagement in Zagreb, Bora went with them and for four years (1957-1961) he spent there he got his self-confidence playing great and significant roles. After that he came back in Belgrade, in Atelje 212, where was roles like: "Arsenic and Old Laces" by Kesselring, "Maratonci trce pocasni krug" and "Radovan III" by Dusan Kovacevic, "Cudo u Sarganu" by Ljubomir Simovic... We remember series such as "Radjanje radnog naroda" (1969), "Ceo zivot za godinu dana" (1971), "Diplomci" (1971) ... His work on movie, after debut in Mali covek (1957), really started with Prague school directors breakthrough - Goran Paskaljevic, Goran Markovic (I), Slobodan Sijan. He played in Ko to tamo peva (1980), Montenegro (1981), Maratonci trce pocasni krug (1982), Balkan ekspres (1983), Balkanski spijun (1984) and finally Dom za vesanje (1988) by Emir Kusturica where his magnificent talent was fully expressed. The whole decade (1986-1996) Bora was absent from stage and his come-back was in "Lari Tompson, tragedija jedne mladosti" by Dusan Kovacevic in Zvezdara Theatre in Belgrade. Bora Todorovic now lives in Prague and Belgrade, is married and has three childrens.
