Anthony Bernard Carter (born 16 June 1975 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is an American professional basketball player, currently playing for the Denver Nuggets. He played at Saddleback Community College in Mission Viejo, CA during 1995 and 1996, then went on to play at the University of Hawaii. Carter went unselected in the 1998 NBA Draft. He began his professional career with the Miami Heat. In 2003, his agent misread a part of his contract which would have enabled him to get an extension, and more money, with Miami but it was too late as, thinking he was a free agent, he had already signed a contract with San Antonio which completely voided his rookie contract. He has since fired that agent. He has since played for the San Antonio Spurs, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets. He has averaged 4.7 points per game during his NBA career.
On April 12, 2007, the Denver Nuggets signed Carter for the remainder of the 2006-07 NBA season. 23922_5482656,00.html" target="_blank">Nuggets add two guards He was waived by the team on August 29, 2007. Just two days later, on August 31, he was re-signed by Denver. On December 20, 2007, Carter hit a runner in the lane with 0.8 seconds left in double overtime against the _Houston Rockets, which gave the Nuggets a 112-111 win.

He finished his college career as the University of Michigan's all-time leading receiver, and played professionally for thirteen years in the United States Football League and the National Football League.
