The AAMI Kooyong Classic is an international men's tennis tournament held at Kooyong Stadium, in Melbourne, Australia. The tournament is not related to the ATP Tour and players participating in the tournament will not gain points for the ATP rankings.
In the tournament eight high ranked players from the ATP Tour will face each other in a promotion/relegation type format. Each of the eight participants play three matches over four days.
The tournament directly precedes the Australian Open and is often regarded as a warm-up event for the participants. Until 2004 the event was called Colonial Classic.
The 2008 Kooyong Classic lineup will be Nikolay Davydenko, Andy Roddick, Fernando Gonzalez, Brydan Klein, Andy Murray, Ivan Ljubicic, Marcos Baghdatis and Marat Safin. http://www.aamiclassic.com.au/Players
